Trauma-Informed Care is all about “changing the culture of an organization.”

RISE Healthy Housing and Support Services recognizes the prevalence of trauma in our community. We understand that trauma effects individuals throughout the life span, and are committed to using trauma-informed practices to compassionately support individuals in achieving their recovery goals. According to the Trauma-Informed Care Project, trauma-informed care is:

… an organizational structure and treatment framework that involves understanding, recognizing, and responding to the effects of all types of trauma. Trauma-Informed Care also emphasizes physical, psychological and emotional safety for both consumers and providers, and helps survivors rebuild a sense of control and empowerment.”
