Hedgerow Apartment Program (HAP) is a supportive apartment program designed to serve 6 men and women in recovery from alcoholism or drug addiction. The program provides housing in scattered site apartments in the community of Ballston Spa, NY. By providing continued support services beyond the scope of a community residence, HAP staff work closely with each resident to facilitate a successful, alcohol and substance-free transition back into the community. Residents of the Hedgerow Apartment Program are provided with 24-hour on-call services, structured activities, and professional counseling with a focus on relapse prevention and independent living skills.

- Resident- run house groups
- One-to-one counseling with program staff
- In-house and community Self -help (including AA and NA) meetings
- Structured day program
- Vocational training and/or active job search
- Social/recreational activities
- Regular outpatient counseling and linkage with medical treatment where indicated
Admission Criteria: Residents must be at least 18 years of age, have a primary diagnosis of alcohol or substance dependence, and express a sincere desire to maintain his/her sobriety. Motivation plays a key role in the treatment of alcoholism and drug abuse, and is therefore a major criterion for admission. We encourage any individual who feels in need of our services and expresses an appropriate willingness, to consider our program at HAP.
Fees: Program fees are charged on the basis of program cost and a client’s ability to pay. Sources of payment include wages, unemployment insurance, pension, private insurance, private pay, SSI/SSDI, or Public Assistance. Program staff assists all clients to pursue avenues of financial support and clients are expected to be responsible for the program cost.
How to access this service: The program will consider self-referrals as well as referrals from all appropriate agencies, family members and employers. Persons are accepted on a voluntary basis, must be clean and sober at the time of referral and admission, actively involved in an inpatient or intensive outpatient program, and express a desire to maintain sobriety.How to access this service
